Job Coach for Adult with Special Needs

Job Sites: Gold Coast Farm (Aliso Viejo) and Riverbed Farm (Anaheim)
Job Summary:
Renewable Farms is seeking a patient, optimistic, and assertive Job Coach to mentor and support an adult with special needs. The role involves picking up the client from their group home in Laguna and accompanying them to either Gold Coast Farm or Riverbed Farm for daily farm chores. On some occasions, the coach will also be responsible for dropping the client off at doctor’s appointments. When weather or circumstances do not permit farm visits, the coach will engage the client in alternative activities.
As a Job Coach, you will work alongside the client, guiding them through farm jobs, keeping them on task, hydrated, and motivated. This is a highly relational role, requiring patience, understanding, and the ability to remain firm when necessary to help the client navigate their moods.
Key Responsibilities:
Pick up the client from their group home and transport them to and from farm job sites using your own vehicle.
Supervise and work alongside the client in farm-related tasks at Gold Coast Farm and Riverbed Farm.
Act as a mentor to build a positive and productive relationship with the client.
Adapt daily activities based on weather or the client’s preferences.
Maintain the client’s energy and focus by ensuring they stay hydrated and encouraged throughout the day.
Handle client moods with patience while staying firm and assertive to keep them engaged and on track.
Occasionally drop the client off at scheduled doctor’s appointments.
Requirements:
Reliable transportation for daily pickup and drop-off in Laguna.
Patience, optimism, and a relational mindset.
Ability to be assertive and handle occasional mood swings.
Interest or experience in working with individuals with special needs.
Physical ability to perform farm chores alongside the client.
